Job description:
Volt Delta Resources LLC, a Division of Volt Information Sciences offers Directory Assistance, Mobility and Telecom, Data and Media, and IT Outsourcing services to the Telecommunications, Financial Services, Contact Center and Enterprise markets. We have an immediate need for a Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting in Westbury, NY.

This position reports directly to BU controller and the primary responsibilities will be supervising the G/L accounting, management reporting and credit and collections processes. Other responsibilities include supervising the performance of various accounting functions, such as financial analysis, compliance with US GAAP, accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial results, monitoring and reporting the cash flow, liaising with the tax department and coordinating with the internal and external auditors.

-Supervise preparation, accurate reporting, and filing of periodic reports that will be used in Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K and Annual Report.
-Ensure compliance with all SEC, PCAOB, FASB, US GAAP rules and regulations.
-Coordinate the financial reporting component of the internal and external audit.
-Assist in ongoing SOX compliance requirements.
-Ensure the financial reporting process incorporates appropriate internal controls.
-Supervise preparation of internal management reports.
-Review of monthly financial statements and supervise closing process.
-Interpretation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements .
-Assists organization's controller in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements.
-Analyzes financial status, designs and develops timely financial plans and procedures based on analysis of data.
-Monitors, analyzes, and implements improvements in budgeting, forecasting and reporting accuracy and effectiveness.
-Conducts special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action.
-Directs preparation of studies, reports, and analysis in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.
-Directly supervises employees in the Financial Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
-Will be required to supervise and/or work on special projects.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Ideal candidate that we are searching for will have a Bachelor degree in Accounting; MBA a plus. Professional certification, such as CPA or CMA required. We also require 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role in financial and management reporting that was used for external filing requirements. Working knowledge of SOX required with a demonstrated ability in performing balance sheet and P&L account analysis a must. Please have a superior working knowledge of Excel in addition to familiarity with PeopleSoft/Oracle; nVision or Hyperion is a plus. Must be analytical and detail oriented and a team player with willingness to work hard to meet strict deadlines with the ability to work independently, with minimal direction.
